Deposit FAQs
Georgia State University offers you the
service of delivering your excess financial aid money more quickly than ever,
by depositing your excess financial aid directly into your checking account.
What is direct
deposit?
- Instead of receiving a check for your excess financial aid, your
excess aid funds are deposited electronically into your checking account
at the bank you choose.
- An e-mail notification is sent to you up to three days in advance
each time a direct deposit is made to your account.
What
are the benefits?
- Funds are delivered directly to your bank account.
- Mailing address problems are eliminated.
- No more standing in line at your bank to deposit your check.
- Protection against theft or time delays caused by lost checks.
- No worries if you’re out of town or don't have time to pick up your
mail.
- No paper work or phone calls since students enroll via GoSolar.
Can a direct deposit be made to any bank?
- The University can direct deposit to any financial institution
within the United States of America with electronic funds transfer
capabilities.
- A large majority of banks participate in the electronic funds
transfer network.
What
will direct deposit cost you?
- Direct deposit is a free service offered to you by Georgia State
University.
How will
you know when a payment has been deposited?
- An e-mail notification will be sent to your GSU issued e-mail
address each time a direct deposit is made to your account. Check with
your bank to ensure the funds have been credited to your account.
When
can you sign up?
- You can now enroll for direct deposit via GoSolar.
How do you
sign up for Direct Deposit?
- Simply log into GoSolar, go to the Student
Accounts Menu and select ‘Enroll\Change Direct Deposit’. Instructions are provided on site.
What if you change bank accounts or want to cancel your
direct deposit enrollment?
- You can change your bank and account numbers, or
cancel your direct deposit enrollment on GoSolar at ‘Enroll\Change Direct
Deposit’.
Does GoSolar enrollment affect my Payroll Direct
Deposit?
- No, enrollment on GoSolar is only for Student
Accounts direct deposits; please contact the Human Resource Office for all
Payroll Direct Deposit enrollments and changes.
How can I see details of my Direct
Deposit?
- You can view refund and direct
deposit bank details on GoSolar at View Refunds and Account Summary by
Term.

deposit are rare. However, if you
encounter a problem or have questions concerning direct deposit, please call
